Getting Over a Broken Heart
How does one get over the shattering pain of a broken heart?
“It was like my heart was made of glass and someone took it to the top of the Empire State Building and dropped it to the ground and it shattered into a million pieces…I feel like Humpty Dumpty…broken into a million pieces and no one can put me back together again.”

Getting Over a Broken Heart
This book was inspired, not just by my work as a clinical psychologist dealing with clients who have suffered terrible heartbreaks, but my own personal experiences and those of friends.
I am a clinical psychologist who has been in private practice for over thirty years. I am blind, having lost my sight slowly throughout the years and have worked extensively with clients who are disabled, chronically or terminally ill as well as persons who have suffered trauma, loss and profound heartbreak.
I believe my own blindness as well as my clinical work with those in unusual life situations adds a unique twist to my book since I have developed a strong understanding and empathy for others suffering such as profound heartbreak.

The night has a thousand eyes
The day but one
But the light of a whole world dies
When the day is done
The mind has a thousand eyes
The heart but one
But the light of a whole life dies
When love is done
